Enjoy a good mix of excellent mid range accommodaton at budget price as you Explore northern Kenya's hot climate in Samburu national park. Samburu has breathtaking scenery and landscape, but is also the only place to find the Grevvy's Zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa Oryx and Gerenuk. Samburu is also a favourite spot for Leopards and Lions. Discover Lake Nakuru & its treek climbing lions, as well as a very large Black and white Rhino population. Lake Nakuru is also home to thousands of Pink flamingo. Experience a boat ride on Lake Naivasha a unique place amongst Hippos and over 450 different bird species including the African Fish Eagle. The tour finishes with 2 nights in Masai Mara which is one of the best parks in the world where you can spot the Big 5. In 2019 the Wildebeest migration commenced in late may, early June. If the migration follows the same timing , this tour could have the added bonus of witnessing this special Wildlife event.

Classic Wild Escape

Today you will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi by one of our safari representatives, who will give a briefing on your upcoming safari. After the briefing you will head north through an agricultural region that is rich with coffee, wheat and various other crops. You will cross the equator at Nanyuki and continue north before descending from the cool highlands into the wildlife rich savanna woodlands. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Samburu is one of the most beautiful and scenic parks in all of Africa, and home to all the predators including African wild dogs. Situated in the middle of the park is the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty here to attract animals from the surrounding savanna plains. The reserve is home to an abundance of rare northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa oryx (also referred to as the “Samburu Special Five"

Enjoy an early morning game drive in Samburu after breakfast. The morning is the most ideal time for game viewing, and your guide will make certain to search for the elusive leopards and lions along the way. Return to your lodge prior to lunch and then spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. In the later part of the afternoon, we depart on another game drive in search of the abundant wildlife at Samburu. You will encounter and learn more about the wildlife species roaming this reserve. On a typical game drive you are bound to come across Leopards, Elephants, Lions, Giraffe, and the rare and unique species that inhabit northern Kenya. Evening Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge.

After breakfast, depart Samburu while enjoying a game drive en route to Lake Nakuru. You will make your way through the scenic Aberdare Ranges and the scenic Rift Valley escarpment before arriving at the the Lodge in time for lunch. Wildlife is plentiful at Lake Nakuru and it is famous for its rhinos and myriads of flamingos that make the Lake look like a sea of pink. Head out for an afternoon game drive to experience some of Lake Nakuru's treasures such as the endemic Rothschild's giraffe, buffalo, antelope and hopefully even some rhino. Overnight is at Lake Nakuru Lodge on Full Board Basis

After early morning breakfast, we checkout then depart for Lake Naivasha. We will enjoy another game drive in Lake Nakuru national park as we head to Naivasha. Upon arrival, We'll take part in an exciting boat safari on the Freshwater Lake. You'll get to see hippos and different species of birds flying over the cool waters. The view is amazing, at some points you'll spot giraffes. Thereafter we'll embark on our 4-hour scenic drive to the world-famous Maasai Mara, arriving at our wonderful Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch and relaxation, we will head into the Maasai Mara for a late afternoon game drive. When the darkness starts creeping in, the predators are more active and engage in hunting. We will also get to enjoy the famous Mara sunset. Overnight is at Oldarpoi Mara Camp on Full Board Basis.

Enjoy a full day game drive within this expansive reserve teeming with wildlife. The area we will visit today is one of the richest predator areas of the Mara and will be our focus. You can also expect to see lots of elephants, hippos, Masai giraffe, common zebra, wildebeest, impala, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles, topi, black-backed jackal, spotted hyena and more. You will be treated to a bush picnic lunch and then return to the camp (continuing your game drive en route). * if the Wildebeest Migration is early we could be treated to an extra special day.

Eat breakfast and then depart for Nairobi. Enjoy extra game viewing en route to Nairobi as you drive through the plains and the floor of the great rift valley. Once you arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon, you will be transferred to JKIA for your home bound flight.
