4 Day Ol Pejeta Conservancy & Aberdare

This 4-day safari will first take you to the foot of Mount Kenya where you'll visit East Africa’s Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary. Ol Pejeta is known as one of the few places where you can still witness the endangered black and white rhino. It also has stunning views across open plains and is the host to an abundance of wildlife. Later in your journey, we'll make our way to Aberdare mountain range and get to stay at the Ark lodge, home to the ever-present game viewing activity at the waterhole and salt lick close to the lodge.

Day by Day

Nairobi - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Depart Nairobi as early as 0800 hours for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, stopping briefly at the equator crossing. This is an imaginary line that splits the world into two halves: north and south. There is a large sign where you can take a photo indicating you have crossed the equator, then continue your journey and arrive in time for lunch. You will go in the afternoon for a game viewing drive in the conservancy. Return to the camp for a wonderful buffet meal, followed by ample time for resting at the camp/lodge.

Full Day Ol Pejeta Conservancy

This day is dedicated to full exploration of the exotic Ol Pejeta Sweetwaters Conservancy with two extensive game runs (morning and evening game drive). The Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including all the “Big Five” (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and lion). The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Aberdare Ranges

After breakfast, you will say goodbye to Ol Pejeta and depart for the Aberdare mountain range where you’ll arrive at the Aberdare Country Club which overlooks the Aberdare Ranges early in the afternoon and check-in before enjoying your lunch. Later in the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the Ark Lodge. This lodge is built entirely of wood resembling and named after Noah’s Ark. The lodge overlooks a waterhole and salt lick that attracts a host of awesome wildlife which you’ll be able to observe from the four decks with numerous balconies and lounges within the lodge. So that you don’t miss any animal sightings, the night guard will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole.

Aberdare Ranges - Nairobi

Breakfast at the camp, followed by a morning wildlife drive until around 11 a.m. After that, check out of the camp with a packed lunch and depart for Nairobi in the evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport.
